SuperSTIM 28In 2010, a 28% hydrochloric acid blend was developed (without the use of xylene) and was field tested in Swan Hills with great success. The chemistry is complicated, and many labs and chemists within some of the largest companies in the world have been working on this mystery for many years, with little or no success. StimSol has now successfully blended over 25,000 cubic meters of SuperSTIM 28 for more than 18 fracs since June of 2011, and we expect that these volumes will grow exponentially with the building of our new acid blending plant, which will be completed and operational the latter part of 2011. The plant is conveniently located in the town of Swan Hills and will have the capacity of blending up to 1,000 cubic meters of acid per day, which will be more than enough to service the entire area. Swan Hills is an established producing area with proven production and minimal hydrocarbon risk. New technology has been critical in the producers’ ability to revisit this region with great success. With the advent of horizontal multi-stage acid fracturing the Swan Hills platform is evolving into a very attractive light oil resource play. |
